July 7, 2024, marked the final day of Levitate Music and Arts Festival in Marshfield, Massachusetts, and it was a day that truly captured the essence of why people have fallen in love with this festival. The energy in the air was relaxed but electric, from fans laying out in the lawn on blankets, to concertgoers jumping to the music at the barricade. The crowd, the artists, and of course the vibrant vendor stalls and art installations scattered across the grounds, giving every corner something to offer. The festival was alive not just with music but with the feeling of community, where strangers smiled at one another and shared in the collective joy of being present.

The day began with Little Stranger, whose blend of indie rhythms and dynamic stage presence immediately pulled the crowd in. Festivalgoers moved with the music and watched as they discovered a new favorite artist for their playlists. Later, Ziggy Alberts took the stage with his soulful acoustic melodies. His gentle but emotive delivery created quiet moments of connection. Fans leaned in, eyes closed, reflecting the intimacy of his performance..

Oliver Anthony followed with a set that showcased his heartfelt country-folk storytelling. His voice, raw and sincere, drew people close to the stage and into the stories of his songs. Anthony played fan favorite covers like “Free Bird” and “Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked”. Between sets, the festival grounds were alive with exploration. Vendors offered unique crafts and delicious food, and artists transformed spaces into interactive installations, creating plenty of opportunities for unique purchases and delicious refueling.

The day ended with a headlining set from Sublime, a band that carries forward the music of the original 1990s Sublime, blending reggae, punk, and ska. Sublime played plenty of hits, and deep cuts, with a beautiful tribute to the band's original lead singer. While the original Sublime gained legendary status in the 1990s, this version of the group was nothing short of the band’s legendary legacy. Bradley Newell’s son Jacob is a spitting image of both his father’s looks and performing skills. The singer and guitarist played alongside original member Eric Wilson and other musicians. Their performance brought high-energy grooves to the crowd and inspired sing-alongs that wrapped up the festival in a perfect way. Fans watched from all across the grounds, enjoying the set from seats, front row, picnic tables, and viewing platforms. The excitement, the raised hands, and the joyful expressions of the guests reflected the happy energy of a day filled with music, community, and unforgettable moments. Levitate 2024 closed on a note of shared joy and celebration, one can confidently say that many will be back for another great year.
